On 12 August, Iberia will operate an Airbus A321XLR departing Madrid-Barajas at 18:45 with a single purpose: climbing above the clouds to observe the first total solar eclipse visible from the Iberian Peninsula in more than a century. A research team from the Shelios project will be on board, and the event will be streamed live from the cabin over Starlink connectivity.
